The last post has been two weeks ago, when Euro 2008 had started along with my week off. The week off ended last weekend, when The Netherlands beat France. I wanted to write about that last weekend, however, my internet provider decided to shut down Saturday and only started working again somwhere at Wednesday. Let’s just say I was not a happy camper those days.
This last week has flown by, it’s unbelievable how fast a year goes. Four more weeks and I’ll be having my six weeks holiday. If I think of all the things I still need to do this month, I’m starting to get worried on how to manage that. Wednesday I talked with the kids about the game The Netherlands – Romania, since they played last Tuesday. It was fun, and of course I told them Friday to cheer of The Netherlands last Saturday. It was no good. Euro 2008 is over for The Netherlands. Russia definitely was playing better and rightfully earned their spot in the semi finale. Ironic actually, since their coach (Guus Hiddink) is a Dutch man. On a brighter side, the children of my class don’t have to stay up late anymore *grin*. However, I don’t think it will make much difference. They are still tired, I’m still tired and we all need the break.
I won’t go away (normally I would go out of the country), this time I will stay home in my new home. Five more days, five more days and the appartment really is mine and I will be having the keys to it. It’s a strange thought though. I still remember the anxiousness whether or not they would except my bid. I will show photos I’ve made myself next weekend

Time flies by June 22, 2008
It has begun… June 10, 2008
Officially Euro 2008 begun last Saturday, however, poule C (The Netherlands, Romania, Italy, France) only started playing yesterday. First the game Romania-France which ended in a 0-0, then later that evening The Netherlands-Italy. I was convinced that Italy, the world champions of 2006, would win the game. I was so wrong, The Netherlands beat the Italians with 3-0. Whoohoo!!!!! Below you can see the three goals that were made: Ruud van Nistelrooy, Wesley Sneijder and Giovanni van Bronckhorst. Comments are in Dutch though, and not as it was on TV that evening, but on the radio. Someone put the goals together with the comments of Jack van Gelder, which is more fun to listen to.
