Read and set to be picked up by a friend and leave my place at 9.20 am there soon were troubles to encounter. At my place they are renewing roads everywhere, so it was hard to manage to find our way with all the blocked roads. Especially since I’m not good at remembering my way
. When we finally found the highway, we came into a traffic block, also because a renewing of it. When we finally were on our way, we had the leave the freeway again, which meant we would be almost there. But then we managed to get lost, again. Finally at around 11.00 am we arrived, had luck with finding a parking spot. The fun could begin…
The Elf Fantasy Fair (2009) April 26, 2009
The Elf Fantasy Fair April 20, 2008
Yesterday I went to the Elf Fantasy Fair with a friend. This fair is the one of the largest fantasy fairs of Europe, and it’s being held at Kasteel de Haar.

The reason I wanted to go, was because Cecile Corbel would be performing. By coincidence I stumbled upon her website and when I listened some of her songs, I instantly loved her music. So, no wonder I wanted to listen to her perform live and what better way to spent your day at the Fair.
Since Cecile’s performance was in the afternoon around 4pm, we talked about all the other things we could do. There wasn’t much that we wanted to do or listen to or see. Eventhough there were many writers, actors and workshops. We simply walked around, looked at all the things for sale. I’ve been looking the whole day for a medieval looking dress and I finally bought one for a fairly nice price. I still need some accories with it.
There were some shows to see. There was this battlefield thing, where Braveheart look-a-likes were fighting the Romans. We left that pretty quickly, we wanted to visit the castle (only to be late anyway). There was also a horse show. It ended soon after we arrived (it might have been going on for some time, I don’t know). I didn’t think it very spectacular, but that’s probably me being used to all this fancy and spectacular stuff. Besides, what was shown, was something I’ve done as well, when riding horses.
And guess what I came across: A parrot. When I saw it, I simply had to take a photo of it. When I asked the owner if it was possible, she was a bit annoyed. Apparently more people had wanted to pet the bird, and she told me he was sick of it. I simply explained I wanted to take a photo, since my class is called the parrots and that was okay. See the result: he kept sitting, and was actually posing. LOL. I’m thinking to actually develop this one and put it in a frame to hang in my new classroom. As a little present, after the move back.
I’ve made a lot of photos, but mainly the same, so I made a selection and post them here. Just simply click the read more button. And feel free to leave any comments about them
Eastern is over … March 25, 2008
… and the full hassle of a work week has begun again. And how. When I woke up this morning the whole street had turned a shade of white. It has been, and still is, snowing. At 7.00 am there already was a lot of chaos in traffic and it was adviced to stay of the roads during the traffic rush. Which is, of course, from 7.30 am till 9.00 am . Could you tell me how a teacher, who has to be at work at 8.00 am tops, will be able to stay of the roads during the traiffic rush. Don’t let me laugh, that’s nearly impossible.
Any, I arrived without any scratches and begun my teaching day. All went well, however, the snow made children a bit hectic and crazy. Which, of course, is quite understandable.
And not only my workday has started. I got an email with a new house hunting search. However, the ones I’d liked to see where already sold, and of one we are still awaiting his/her answer to the email my real estate agent sent. My time will come, my time will come, my time will come. And if I keep repeating that sentence, I actually might start to believe in it.
The people at my webhost also started their workday. Apparently my very angry email to them has helped, because today, when I got home I had an email back. Of course all has to do with the spam emails. Please, people, tell me, what is so much fun of sending spam emails through someone else’s site? Because clearly I miss the humor of it. Anyway, the site is back online (http://www.whispering-words.com) but on an hiatus. I’m simply to busy at the moment to update the whole thing again. I’m really considering to keep my blog here at WordPress.Com and use the site for my artwork and fanfiction. That way I can’t use all kinds of scripts which are going to be helping hackers to use my domain for their no-good-email-sending. And the name is still quite good, since I’m still kind of whispering words with my stories.
