It’s unbelievable, September is almost gone, October will begin. Two more weeks of work and I’ll be having my autumn break. I’ll be going on a very small vacation, to Edinburgh. Looking forward to that, though it means I’ll have to leave my lovely cats in someone else’s capable hands. Yes cats. Last Friday I went to the animal shelter and I found this adorble cat. Approximately one year old. It’s a male, they called him Skunkie, but I’m considering of calling him Borre. Nah, scratch the considering, I’m pretty sure I will call him Borre. I can pick him up this upcoming Tuesday, since they found him and then they have to keep him in for fourteen days, incase someone comes looking for him. He’s black with white, and even a little bit of grey. As soon as the little fellow is home, I try to take a photo of him.

As you might have noticed, there’s another layout, but more importantly, I’m trying once again to have my blog at my own webspace. That way I can do way more with it, have my own made themes, add more plugins etc, etc. Now I’m just hoping people will leave my site alone. I’ve had it with all the hackers and if I hear a person telling me he is one, he’d better run! I’ve uploaded the posts I’ve made at the other blog, so those have not gone lost. I do hope another layout will come up soon. I do like this one, but I made one of which I’m very fond with Artisteer, however witht he free version I get it watermarked :( . Anyone care to help me with that?

Of work, homes, cats and other things September 2, 2008

After a long, tiresome workday, I love to curl up on the couch and watch some TV. And in some time I might do that. In my own home, at my own couch, with my own TV – scratch the TV, I already had that one. Yes, it’s finally done. Last Wednesday I’ve moved my bed, TV, computer, clothes and some other things to my appartment and moved in. Together with that, I took in this sweet little kitten, who keeps me awake at night from time to time. It was strange, but I’m starting to get used to it.
Not everything is finished, there are the little things that still need to be done; lamps, plug-in changing, just name it. I also needed to install the internet connection. However, when my dad had installed the hardware things, I needed to start the computer, and the internet to do the software. That’s no problem, if I hadn’t lost the letter containing the login things. Luckily I’ve found them today after dinner. As usual the installation didn’t go smoothly, but it worked out in the end.

After only two nights in my appartment I left the weekend for DoeDans in Biddinghuizen (The Netherlands). It was awsome, great and I’m going again next year. I did had sore muscles (still have them) after doing a  workshop with dances from Serbia. Saturday night was a blast too, the band Raromski played. If you like that kind of music (or not), they are good. A photographer took photos and I hope they’ll be on his website soon, so I can see if I’m on any (yes, there’s a change, I was on one of them last year) and order prints.

Work started again as well, got a new class, and enjoying it so far. It’s still hard to tell, after only two days. It is tiresome though, so I better stop and close off.

I’ve been lacking… August 24, 2008

I know, I know, I’ve been lacking on giving updates on how the appartment is going. Not all pictures are uploaded to Photobucket yet, but most have. I simply don’t have the time to put them here in my blog. I want to move to my appartment before my summerbreak ends, and that means I only have one week to go. Four days to be precize. My goal is to move upcoming Tuesday, and hopefulle the floor will be finished then.

Next weekend, will be my only real break, just before I have to start work again. I’ll be going to the DoeDans Festival in Biddinghuizen (The Netherlands). It’s a folklore dance festival, where lots and lots of people come to, to learn new folklore dances. I’ll be going with friends from dancing class. Hopefully all of us can go, since one of them has landed back into hospital with an infection after she has been operated.
The Festival is special, because most of the time a new cd with new folklore dances will be released (Mix 9 this time). And no, it’s not only for people over 50 :P . More and more teenagers and people in their twenties will be choosing this side of dancing. I didn’t really choose it to do, since my mum made me do it when I was almost four years old. But I did choose to keep doing it during highschool and college.

And then, September 1st, work starts again. A new class, new parents to deal with, my third year on this school. It’s somewhat scary, but it’s also great to start with a class full of new children. Of course I already know the children by name (most of them anyway ;) ), but it will be totally different. Don’t get me wrong, eventhough I did had hard times in the two years I had my children, I had also a lot of great times with them, but starting fresh is always a good thing.

At the moment I’m writing this, I’m at my mum’s computer, which still holds a lot of my old things from at least four years ago. I’ve rediscovered things of which I think would be fun to make/do again. One of them is the online trading card game scene. However, now looking for sites, didn’t give me any. At the time I’ve started to make my own trading card game of one of the acresses I was (and still am) a big fan off: Rachel Blakely. The most known shows she appeared in are: Neighbours and The Lost World. I’ve been a big The Lost World fan five to seven years ago, and now I kind of rediscovered it, watching episodes I really liked and posting on the forum again. Back to the TCG, I’m thinking of finishing it and maybe I do something with it on my website. I’m not sure. Perhaps if there’re people on the board who like the idea and are willing to participate, I will.

Well, I better end this rambling. A new day tomorrow, to try and finish the floor in my appartment. Rise and shine early for me.

Time flies by June 22, 2008

The last post has been two weeks ago, when Euro 2008 had started along with my week off. The week off ended last weekend, when The Netherlands beat France. I wanted to write about that last weekend, however, my internet provider decided to shut down Saturday and only started working again somwhere at Wednesday. Let’s just say I was not a happy camper those days.
This last week has flown by, it’s unbelievable how fast a year goes. Four more weeks and I’ll be having my six weeks holiday. If I think of all the things I still need to do this month, I’m starting to get worried on how to manage that. Wednesday I talked with the kids about the game The Netherlands – Romania, since they played last Tuesday. It was fun, and of course I told them Friday to cheer of The Netherlands last Saturday. It was no good. Euro 2008 is over for The Netherlands. Russia definitely was playing better and rightfully earned their spot in the semi finale. Ironic actually, since their coach (Guus Hiddink) is a Dutch man. On a brighter side, the children of my class don’t have to stay up late anymore *grin*. However, I don’t think it will make much difference. They are still tired, I’m still tired and we all need the break.
I won’t go away (normally I would go out of the country), this time I will stay home in my new home. Five more days, five more days and the appartment really is mine and I will be having the keys to it. It’s a strange thought though. I still remember the anxiousness whether or not they would except my bid. I will show photos I’ve made myself next weekend ;) .
