It’s unbelievable, September is almost gone, October will begin. Two more weeks of work and I’ll be having my autumn break. I’ll be going on a very small vacation, to Edinburgh. Looking forward to that, though it means I’ll have to leave my lovely cats in someone else’s capable hands. Yes cats. Last Friday I went to the animal shelter and I found this adorble cat. Approximately one year old. It’s a male, they called him Skunkie, but I’m considering of calling him Borre. Nah, scratch the considering, I’m pretty sure I will call him Borre. I can pick him up this upcoming Tuesday, since they found him and then they have to keep him in for fourteen days, incase someone comes looking for him. He’s black with white, and even a little bit of grey. As soon as the little fellow is home, I try to take a photo of him.

As you might have noticed, there’s another layout, but more importantly, I’m trying once again to have my blog at my own webspace. That way I can do way more with it, have my own made themes, add more plugins etc, etc. Now I’m just hoping people will leave my site alone. I’ve had it with all the hackers and if I hear a person telling me he is one, he’d better run! I’ve uploaded the posts I’ve made at the other blog, so those have not gone lost. I do hope another layout will come up soon. I do like this one, but I made one of which I’m very fond with Artisteer, however witht he free version I get it watermarked :( . Anyone care to help me with that?

… and the full hassle of a work week has begun again. And how. When I woke up this morning the whole street had turned a shade of white. It has been, and still is, snowing. At 7.00 am there already was a lot of chaos in traffic and it was adviced to stay of the roads during the traffic rush. Which is, of course, from 7.30 am till 9.00 am . Could you tell me how a teacher, who has to be at work at 8.00 am tops, will be able to stay of the roads during the traiffic rush. Don’t let me laugh, that’s nearly impossible.
Any, I arrived without any scratches and begun my teaching day. All went well, however, the snow made children a bit hectic and crazy. Which, of course, is quite understandable.

And not only my workday has started. I got an email with a new house hunting search. However, the ones I’d liked to see where already sold, and of one we are still awaiting his/her answer to the email my real estate agent sent. My time will come, my time will come, my time will come. And if I keep repeating that sentence, I actually might start to believe in it.

The people at my webhost also started their workday. Apparently my very angry email to them has helped, because today, when I got home I had an email back. Of course all has to do with the spam emails. Please, people, tell me, what is so much fun of sending spam emails through someone else’s site? Because clearly I miss the humor of it. Anyway, the site is back online (http://www.whispering-words.com) but on an hiatus. I’m simply to busy at the moment to update the whole thing again. I’m really considering to keep my blog here at WordPress.Com and use the site for my artwork and fanfiction. That way I can’t use all kinds of scripts which are going to be helping hackers to use my domain for their no-good-email-sending. And the name is still quite good, since I’m still kind of whispering words with my stories.

What to do… March 23, 2008

with an, in my eyes, totally being unfair webhost?! I’ve had it with them. Seriously, I have. If you want to know which host I’m talking about, leave me a comment with an addy and I’ll fill you in. After 4 years of having my website at their place, this last year it’s only giving me trouble, thanks to some lovely hackers who think it’s nice to hack a website! Last time that happened, it took me three months to get my site online and according to them it was because I’ve been a long time member without any troubles. This weekend I had troubles logging into my cpanel, emailed them and it took two days for they replied. When they had, it was a small email telling me they’d reset my password and really, I could log in again. When I did I saw someone had added emailaddresses. So emailed them back, and this is what I get: Site taken offline. I’ve learned my lesson, let me tell you that! Never email back when unexpected things have happened to your site, even if you think they’ve might have done it as a test.

And of course all this had to happen on a Sunday, during Eastern, so the earliest time I’ll get an email back will be Tuesday. Seriously, I’m already searching for another webhost (anyone any good recommendations? I’d rather have a Dutch one though). I’m not so sure they will put my site back online a second time (although I threathend to refund the money back to my own bank account if they wouldn’t, I’ve just paid for a whole year). However, I do think it ridiculous that because of another person’s hackwork, they’re punishing me with an offline site! I’m not so sure I see justice in that. Why won’t help people by letting them know what the weak spot is, so they can do something about it. And when they haven’t done anything about it, okay, then I’ll understand why it’s been closed. Or maybe I’m just to naive concerning things like this.
